About the event
CGIAR will participate in COP30 in Belém, Brazil, to spotlight the critical role of food, land, and water systems in achieving global climate goals.
Through a series of panels, side events, and strategic dialogues, we will share CGIAR science, innovations, and tools to help countries meet their climate commitments. CGIAR’s presence will emphasize the need for integrated, inclusive approaches to climate adaptation, mitigation, and food systems transformation.
The thirtieth Conference of Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) marks a critical shift from agreements to action.
Hosted in the heart of the Amazon, COP30 will spotlight climate justice, finance, and adaptation, with a strong focus on the voices of Indigenous Peoples and local communities. As countries prepare new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and respond to the Global Stocktake’s call for food systems transformation, COP30 offers a decisive opportunity to embed food, land, and water systems into climate action—backed by science, innovation, and partnerships.
